I’ve been wanting to do a post on Fitz because he’s part of our little family now. Sunday evening, Fitz & I picked John up from his work & went to the park to play. I took my DSLR because I wanted us to get photos with him for my Personal Planner (I want him to be the cover!).

So Fitz is a mini F1B Golden Doodle (he’s a cream // light apricot color). He is 9 weeks old now. (I’ve been getting a lot of questions about him – if you need the breeders info please e-mail me!) Growing up my family always had a pet. Throughout junior high/high school we had a bulldog named ‘Sister’ and she was really like our sister. It was devastating when we lost her. That being said, I’ve always loved dogs (badly allergic to cats!). I have been known to stop people and ask to pet their dogs or take photos..haha (poor John, right?). When John & I got married he we was well aware that I was a dog lover & he always told me we couldn’t have one because of his allergies. Then he was introduced to hypoallergenic dogs and didn’t have an excuse anymore! During his final year of medical school, he told me that after he finished and we were done moving monthly that we could start looking around for a hypoallergenic pup. The past few years I have been pinning pups that I love on a Pinterest Board so I referred him to that… and he thought the golden doodles were really cute. 🙂 If you follow on Insta you saw that I got to hold a precious mini golden doodle at Fashion Week & when John saw that photo on Insta he texted me and said “oh I like that dog!”. At that point I was pretty sure he would get us one for Christmas… so I was even more excited when I got Fitz for my birthday. John is as crazy over Fitz as I am which is a relief. I am not sure why I was worried about that. Anyway, I wanted to sort of introduce him to you all because he really is a part of our family now. The only reason I wasn’t sure about having him on my blog is because I don’t want him to be an accessory. He goes with us everywhere so when he happens to be in photos, it’s not because he was placed there. He loves to run & play while we take photos, but he also really likes to be near me (the best feeling ever!). Right now, as I am typing he is under my desk sleeping on my feet and if I were to go to the next room he will definitely wake up & follow. Okay, this is super long for me but I really wanted you all to know why he is so special to us.

Hope you have a great weekend! Thank you so much for reading..

  1. I loved all of this! Our pups are our kiddos too, so I 100% know how you feel and I could go on and on about it haha! We adopted an adult basset mix (Lulu) while we were dating in college (risky move but we both loved dogs and knew we would be together long-term), and then we adopted a dachshund-mix pup right before we got married this summer (Russell) and together they complete our little family! I love that he goes everywhere with you because Russell does that with me too! I just love finding fellow dog lovers 🙂 This was so precious.

  2. OMG! I love your style and your hair (who of us here doesnt right?)! But your baby and newest addition to the family is driving me insane! I swear I am stalking you looking for pictures of Fitz and showing them to my hubby… He just tells me im in love and asks me if I want one… We have a lab, a husky and a mini schnauzer (the spoiled baby)… I think Im OK with this family for now LOL…

  3. i love your comment about how he isn't an accessory. i feel like so many people get dogs because it's the thing to do or basically to be an accessory and it's not fair to anyone or the dog, poor thing just wants to be loved on and cared for!

i am not a dog-person at all, never had pets growing up and neither did my husband, so i don't plan to ever get one, but i think that it's so great that you have added one to your family and that he is so special and close to you that he comes everywhere!

  4. CONGRATS on your new fur baby – I think it's just awesome that you have him! And that John loves him so much too. I love seeing my hubby w/ my dogs, he is a complete mushy mush and it's the sweetest thing (no pun intended, lol!).
